Undiscovered Genius
I write a bunch, and some of it I kinda' sorta' like. I especially write poetry. I have submitted to my school's literary arts magazine two years in a row, and have been turned down both times! I am starting to lose hope! I know that part of being a writer is the frustration and hardship of sending in to be published and not being published, but should I have to go through it now? I am thinking of not submitting this year. I don't know if I should! If anyone out there has any suggestions for me, I would love to hear them!

You know what, I say go for it again. Last year I submitted a poem, and it was turned down as well. You were actually the person who told me to go submit it! I was going to give it another try, and I think you should too. This is not the time to lose hope. Actually, I am getting pretty good at accepting rejection. I'll tell you more about that later. Love you bunches!
PS Now it's your turn to go read MY blog!
Keep submitting! Not just to the Muse, but to all kinds of different publications and contests. Have you tried submitting to Creative Communications? They publish students' work every fall, winter, spring, and summer. We have a sign up in the classroom with the details. And thank you for your comments on my blog--they are always greatly apprecitated.
Hi Lizzie! Cool blog! I submitted a poem to Creative Communications last year and it got selected to be published in their Spring 2006 Rocky Mountain poets edition! It was really cool, I got the book just last week actually and there are tons of kids from Arapahoe in there! You should definitely apply to that this year! Come check out my blog sometime, I just updated it! See you later!
Lizzie Lu! I miss you! I hope you had a good Marching Band competition. And you need a new post, but I can wait.
PS New post that you'd find interesting on my blog!
Hey Lizzie, I found you (through Ms Kakos' blog)
I think your title sums it up really well because that's pretty much what you (and your poetry) are, genius. I love you (and your poetry,
As for the undiscvoered part.. the only way to ever be discovered is to keep trying.
And yes, I acknowledge this post is quite late in coming and probably no longer relevant (has the deadline come and passed?) but I wanted to post anyway because, well... I did.
